Chromecast Ultra – Chromecast with 4K/HDR Support, Ethernet Option

Along with the Google’s first own-branded smartphones Pixel & Pixel XL, Google also launched few other devices including the new Chromecast Ultra.

Chromecast is a media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use your mobile device and the TV you already own to cast your favourite TV shows, films, music, sport, games and more. Chromecast works with iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Mac and Windows laptops and Chromebooks

This is the third version of the Chromecast and has the same design as its predecessor Chromecast 2. The integrated HDMI cable still magnetically attaches to the back of the Chromecast when not in use. The Chrome logo has been replaced with Google’s “G” logo.

The major difference is the inclusion of 4K and HDR streaming support in the Chromecast Ultra. Though HDR content availability is still rare but there is enough 4K content available nowadays on Youtube and Netflix.

Now you will be able to stream 4K content from YouTube and Netflix on to your 4K TV. For stable 4K/HDR streaming, the new Chromecast Ultra now comes with optional Ethernet Port support(via a dongle) for wired LAN connection. It also has improved Wi-Fi ac connectivity and speed performance.

Chromecast Ultra Price in India: Around Rs.5,990. Coming to India in November 2016. As you can notice that new Chromecast price has been doubled in comparison to its predecessor Chromecast 2. If you do not have( or have no immediate plans for a) 4K TV or do not require 4K streaming, then you can still buy the Chromecast 2 @ Rs.2999.

Chromecast Ultra supports 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision, so you’ll get a crisper picture with higher resolution and more vibrant colors. At first, you’ll be able to stream 4K content from Netflix, YouTube and Vudu, and we’re working to bring more 4K and HDR content on board. Later this year, Google Play Movies & TV will be rolling out 4K content. Even if your TV isn’t 4K-ready, Chromecast Ultra automatically optimizes your TV’s picture.

Chromecast Ultra loads videos 1.8 times faster than other Chromecast devices and includes major Wi-Fi improvements to support streams from full HD to Ultra HD without a hitch. For those tricky Wi-Fi environments, we’re also adding Ethernet support for a wired connection.
