Qualcomm has launched two new octa-core mobile processors – Snapdragon 617 and Snapdragon 430 . These are mid-range processors with upgraded features. Both of these now supports higher upload and download speed in 4G LTE network.
The Snapdragon 430 comes with new X6 LTE modems supporting Cat 4 download speed of up to 150 Mbps and Cat 5 upload speed of up to 75 Mbps. Till now upload speeds have been restricted till 50 Mbps in all of the mid-range mobile processors. It also sports dual-ISPs to support stunning photographs and image quality reaching up to 21-megapixels. It comes with the new Qualcomm Adreno 505 GPU with support for Open GL ES3.1, OpenCL 2.0, and Android Extension Pack. It will be available in Q2 2016 devices.
The Snapdragon 617 comes with X8 LTE modem supporting Cat 7 download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbps. It sports the same camera and software support as the Snapdragon 620 and Snapdragon 618 but will be available at lower price in comparison. It will be available in the smartphones by the end of this year 2015.

Press release :
Qualcomm Technologies is building up the Snapdragon line-up with two new products and several firsts. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 and 430 processors are designed to deliver high-end performance and experiences in affordable, high- and mid-tier devices.
The Snapdragon 617 will be first out of the gate, and is expected in devices by the end of 2015. It shares several capabilities with the higher-end Snapdragon 620 and 618 processors. All integrate X8 LTE capabilities with support for Cat 7 download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbps, and 2x20MHz carrier aggregation. And each boasts dual-ISPs to support stunning photographs and image quality reaching up to 21-megapixels.
These similarities allow for software compatibility between the processors, supporting faster productization for OEMs already using one of the system-on-chips. The Snapdragon 617 CPU also boasts an octa-core configuration of Cortex A53s, reaching up to 1.5GHz.
The Snapdragon 430 is expected in devices later in 2016, but many features will be worth the wait, including support for a high-end camera and superior gaming experiences. The Snapdragon 430 will be the first in its tier to debut the latest generation Qualcomm Adreno 505.
The Adreno 500 family is engineered to deliver increased speed and efficiency, which means you’ll get stunning graphics while only sipping from the battery. Like the Snapdragon 617, it will support dual-ISPs, supporting photo capture up to 21-megapixels. The 430 also integrates X6 LTE with Cat 4 downlink speeds of up to 150 Mbps, with 2x10MHz carrier aggregation, and Cat 5 uplink speed of up to 75 Mbps. Finally, the Snapdragon 430 also brings support for 1080p Full HD displays and video capture and playback.
These two processors also share some great features. Both the Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 617 are the first in their tiers to support the brand new Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. This power management technology is designed to support up to 4 times the charging speeds of traditional USB charging and is more efficient than our previous generation.
Both processors have brought back the high performance, low power Qualcomm Hexagon DSP, designed to enable low power sensor and audio experiences. In addition, both will help fast-track the regional certification process with support for the Qualcomm Reference Design programs and Qualcomm Global Pass solution.
